Annette M. Kucharski

In the year 2017 on the 9th day of July the beautiful and courageous Annette Mary Kucharski left her earthly body and walked fearlessly and joyfully through the gates of heaven into the loving arms of her Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 AM, Thursday, July 13, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 500 W St Mary St. Decatur with Father Michael Rejent officiating. Burial to follow at Harrison Cemetery in Decatur. Friends may visit Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Newell Chapel & Cremation Services 83313 M51 Decatur. Annette was born May 3, 1944, in Chicago, IL to Clarke and Ann Holfman. On May 4, 1963, she married the love of her life and soul mate Frank Kucharski. In 1975 Annette and Frank moved to Decatur, MI where they raised their family. She enjoyed driving a school bus for Decatur Public Schools and working as a secretary at Big Valley Cold Storage.

Annette’s greatest joy was her family. Although Annette endured MS for over 40 years she never let any pain, discomfort or hurdle come before her children and grandchildren.  Her only complaint was MS took away her ability to logistically and physically care for her family, but her love and emotional support knew no bounds.

Remaining to honor and continue Annette’s legacy of strength, grace and love is her husband Frank Kucharski; sons, Anthony (Susan) of Hartford MI, Michael (Melissa) of Mattawan, MI Frank Kucharski, Jr. of Grand Rapids and Christopher (Alisha) of Jennison, MI; grandchildren, Anthony, Holly, Andrew, Michael, Jeffrey, Jasmine, Nicholas, Jake, Johnny, Makenna and two step-grandchildren Alicia and Joshua; siblings Dr. Clark (Judith) Holfman of Bueno Vista, Ca, Linda Byer of Harwood Heights, IL and Joan Holfman of Red Oak, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and daughter-in-law Janet Kucharski and brother-in-law Pete Byer.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Annette's passing. She was my mother's cousin. Although my memories are few, I do remember visiting her family as a young girl, and have recently met up with her sister Linda. Wishing you, her family, peace and comfort during this difficult time. With deepest sympathies, Mary Barry-Maloney
